Welcome to my blogg ... well this one. I have decided to dedicate this blogg to my jewellery and the like and over the next while, will be posting some of my makes.
Thought I would start with this one ....
I made the chain from split rings and the beads are attached using flat headed pins with a loop at the top and then just added onto the necklace chain with another split ring. Nothing really extra ordinary, but when I gave it to my lovely d.i.l. for her birthday, she loved it!
This is another fairly simple one. I used some lovely beads for this one and some waxed cotton thread. Kept it focused at the front and just used some simple knots to hold the beads in place. Earrings are on a head pin and just simply attached to the ear wires.
This is a totally beaded necklace and the design is called "St. Petersburgh Chain". I used some pearl beads with some bronze coloured seed beads. Once you get into the swing of it, it grows quite quickly. It lays very nicely too. The close up shows how the beads "zip" together.
The last one for today!!
The "chain" is a beaded right angle weave as a "two drop" and the beads are held in place just by a string of beads passing from one side of the chain to the other. The earrings are made simply on a head pin and attached to ear wires.
I have been experimenting in other areas of "jewellery" making and will, eventually be posting photos of these efforts too.
Hope you have enjoyed taking a look at my very first forays into beaded work and thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blogg.
See you soon!!
